Working For Us

Work for us

We employ over 5,000 people as nurses, health visitors, secretaries, domestic staff, doctors, pharmacists, administrators, managers, occupational therapists, accountants, psychiatrists, psychologists...the list seems endless.

If you'd like to join our team, you can see our job vacancies at NHS jobs. If you are interested in medical roles with the Trust then please visit medical staffing roles.

We encourage applications from all sections of the local community.  We're particularly keen to help people who use our services to apply for jobs within the Trust.

We have been awarded Mindful Employer status for  further 3 years from April 2011.  Our commitment continues to the national charter aimed at employers who are positive about mental health. The charter is part of the UK-wide Mindful Employer initiative which aims to increase awareness of mental health in the workplace.

LPT was one of the first Trusts to create new jobs in health for people with mental ill health or learning disabilities under the Future Jobs Fund and is continuing to help spearhead this work through the Working for Wellness in the East Midlands network. In the Journeys to work booklets, people from the East Midlands tell their personal stories about their journey back to work.

Valuing your development

Our services are only as good as the people who work in them. That's why we believe training and development are vitally important.

The training and development needs of all of our staff are assessed through a Personal Development Plan.  Induction training is provided for everyone who joins the Trust.

Valuing diversity

As a NHS Trust, we serve one of the most diverse populations in the country, which is why we are keen to ensure that each sector of our local communities is fully represented in our workforce.  We believe that the diversity of cultures and lifestyles represented in our workforce adds to our understanding and awareness of the very varied needs of the people who use our services.
