Becoming an NHS Foundation Trust  

We are making good progress towards becoming an NHS Foundation Trust and by the end of 2010 had completed a three-month assessment period with Monitor, the independent Foundation Trust regulator.  With Monitor's agreement, we have temporarily 'stepped out' of the application process for 2011 in order to focus on the transfer and integration of the wide range of community health services that became part of LPT in april 2011 under the Transforming Community Services programme.
 
In July 2011 we reached a Tripartite Formal Agreement with the Department of Health and the NHS East Midlands Strategic Health Authority for the timetable to take forward our Foundation Trust application as an integrated community, mental health and learning disability services organisation.  
 

Council of Governors

We held our inaugural elections in the Autumn of 2010 and all the elected seats have been filled. Our Council of Governors will remain in shadow form until the Trust is authorised by Monitor. More information is available on our Governors page.

 

Getting Involved

2011 is already providing some interesting ways to get involved for our members. Some of our members have already registered their interest in helping us with our PEAT (Patient Environment Action Team) inspections. Our members have also been involved in helping us to design our Annual Quality Accounts and this has been very helpful to us.  Some members may even wish to volunteer in helping us with the Essence of Care Audits!
