Care Quality Commission inspection of the Bradgate Mental Health Unit

As previously highlighted in the media at the start of August 2013, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has issued Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) with two CQC warning notices and three CQC compliance actions following an inspection at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit in July.

People needed for Leics walk to raise money for charity projects in Ethiopia and Nigeria

Volunteers are needed to take part in a sponsored circular walk of four or 15 miles
on Saturday 7 September in Leicestershire to raise money for mental health projects in Ethiopia and Nigeria.

Looking Back, Moving Forward Family Day and AGM

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust wants to hear from former patients and service users about their memories of the city’s historic Towers Hospital site. The Trust wants to capture and share their recollections for a special event on Saturday 7 September to mark the sale and closure of the Towers this year and the transition to 21st century facilities and services. The day will start with our Annual General Meeting.

Care closer to home for city patients

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) has announced plans for more patients
to receive care closer to home.  City residents being admitted to community hospitals miles from home will soon be a  thing of the past when a new 23-bed intermediate care ward at the Evington Centre  opens at the end of the year. Currently, city residents requiring such care are treated on a number of different wards around the county.
