Interim CEO - John Short

John Short, interim Chief Executive Officer of Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT), has been appointed CEO of Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust. Professor David Chiddick, Chair of LPT said, ‘This is a great opportunity for John and a recognition of the distance LPT has travelled over the past 18 months under his leadership. I have very much enjoyed working with him and he will be a great loss to LPT.’ John will leave Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust at the end of March 2013.

Stay safe this Christmas- Sexual health services

We would like to take this opportunity to remind people to stay safe and responsible over this festive season. Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust has a range of sexual health services, including specialist services for those under 25, across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. These services are free, easy to access and confidential.

Foundation Trust plans deferred

Hospital visitors urged: ‘Help us keep winter bugs at bay’

Hospital visitors are being urged to think ahead or stay away, to reduce the risk of passing winter bugs to hospital patients and other vulnerable people this winter.Cases of of winter illnesses, such as norovirus (known as winter vomiting bug) and cold and flu-like illnesses, have been reported across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland in recent weeks, and numbers traditionally rise at this time of year.

Final call for new name for £5.2m mental health ward

More than 30 names have been suggested for the new £5.2m 20-bed mental health ward currently under construction at the Bradgate Unit, Leicester, but there is still time for service users, their families and carers, and members of the local community to get their entries in! 

LPT to bridge emotional support gap for city carers

Older carers of people with life-limiting illnesses in Leicester will have access to more emotional support, thanks to an agreement between Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust and AgeUK.  LPT’s department of spiritual and pastoral care has been brought in to enhance a trial in Leicester city for an end-of-life support service.

Launch of listening to people with learning disabilities film
