Jingle on the wards! Band's festive gigs

One of Leicester’s top bands is spreading Christmas cheer with a series of festive ‘gigs’ on mental health wards in Leicester. Refuge – lead singer Pete Hirst and fellow band members Phil Seaman and Sam Munton - have performed on Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust’s wards for adults and older people since 2014.This month the band has added a contemporary touch to Christmas favourites. And healthcare staff have been turning backing singers to help them entertain patients.

LPT donates redundant hospital beds to overseas healthcare workers

We have donated 30 of our redundant hospital beds to health workers abroad, thanks to National Police Aid Convoys. We have upgraded to electric beds, but our old hydraulic ones are prized in places where electricity is scarce.

Ukulele ladies go on tour to boost wellbeing

LPT wins 3 prestigious national healthcare workforce awards

Leicestershire Partnership Trust (LPT) has won three awards at this year’s prestigious Allocate Awards 2016: National Project Team of the Year; Regional Project Team of the Year; and the Staff Engagement award. The Trust also was highly commended for the award for Bringing the Patient to the Centre of Workforce Planning and Delivery.

Learning disability health team in line for national award

A team from Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) has been shortlisted for the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ prestigious Psychiatric Team of the Year (for Learning Disability) award. The Trust’s learning disability service, which provides community and inpatient healthcare services, will hear on 8 November if it has clinched the national award, which recognises innovation and improvements to psychiatric services for people with learning disabilities

Terry tackles first half marathon as thanks for mum's wellbeing

A Leicester driver is swapping his wheels for running shoes and attempting his first half marathon on Sunday – to support the NHS service that ‘changed my mum’s life.’ Courier firm driver Terry Holland, 35, is taking part in the Leicester Half Marathon in a bid to raise £2,000 for Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust’s Mett Centre

Volunteers needed for major study to help parents cope with persistently crying babies

Positive mental health campaign being launched with poetic flashmobs

Leicestershire Partnership Trust (LPT) is celebrating positive mental health and wellbeing by co-launching an innovative competition, ahead of World Mental Health day (10 October 2016), aimed at everyone across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The project will launch on Friday 7 October with a musical flashmob at Leicester train station and flashmobs across the Trust buildings, to raise awareness of the competition and encourage submissions.

 

LPT co-hosts conference on inter-agency collaboration to improve personality disorder care
