Respiratory Service

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is the name for a collection of lung diseases including chronic bronchitis, emphysema and chronic asthma.

The Long Term Conditions (LTC) COPD respiratory service comprises a team of respiratory specialist nurses, respiratory specialist physiotherapists, oxygen specialist nurses and health care assistant support. The team see housebound patients in their homes, provide respiratory clinics in the community hospitals and work alongside GPs and practice nurses. The service aims to promote best practice in the management of COPD.

UHL provide a home oxygen service – contact 0116 250 2880. The teams work closely with our secondary care respiratory colleagues to deliver integrated evidence based care.

If you feel you would benefit from a referral into the service please discuss this with your GP or consultant.
