The Mett Centre

The Mett Centre provides short, medium and long-term recovery-focused interventions and activities for people with complex and serious mental ill health who have difficulty accessing and attending mainstream services without ongoing intensive support.

This service is provided for adults who are open to a consultant psychiatrist within Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.

Our team of occupational therapists and nurses works closely with them in a safe environment, and offers individualised assessments and activities/skills training designed to aid people in moving on to education, work and/or independent living.

The service has a purpose-built city centre base with a range of facilities. These include a large open-plan drop-in area, coffee lounge, therapeutic kitchen, computer area, and art area.

The Mett aims to be a safe haven, reducing social isolation and acting as a stepping stone into the community and supporting people to build on their strengths and resources to lead a fulfilling life after discharge. It sets out to provide people with opportunities to develop and take a lead in their own services via a service user forum.
