Our new message to a loved one service has been established to help you to keep in touch with the people you care about while they are in hospital during this time when there is no visiting (with a few exceptions).

This new service will free-up time for our clinicians who are already facing increasing demands.

You can contact the team to send any messages to your loved ones whilst they are on our wards.

The message to a loved one service offers a range of different ways you and your loved ones can maintain contact. We can:

  • Be a point of contact for relatives and carers to enquire about patients on our wards
  • Relay messages to and from our patients
  • Provide advice and answer general queries about how we are managing the Covid-19 situation.
  • Arrange virtual visiting with video call to family

Please note: this service will not able to provide you with any clinical information about your loved one.
We will protect patient confidentiality at all times and messages from our patients will only be provided to those people they have given consent for us to have contact with. For patients who cannot give consent, we will only relay messages and updates to the person we have recorded as next of kin. We ask that any other family or friends seek information about the person in our care from their next of kin.

You can find out more in the leaflet for family, friends and carers and the leaflet for patients.
