The Involvement Centre and Café

The Involvement Centre is an information, IT and social resource, open to inpatients, outpatients, service users, carers and visitors.

The Involvement Centre and Café is located just off the main reception area of the Bradgate Unit. It offers a friendly, relaxing, non-clinical environment where an individual can

  • use a computer (which has internet access and printing facilities)
  • pick up some information leaflets
  • drop in for a specific activity
  • buy a drink, snacks, sandwich and watch tv or enjoy the garden area

A weekly programme of events is available from the Centre and is also displayed and available online here. Some sessions are regular events e.g. the weekly employment clinic whereas others are one-off sessions and may include visits from individuals from other partner agencies, or discussion sessions on particular issues. The Centre promotes activities which are co-ordinated through the Arts in Health Co-ordinators, for example writing and art groups.

There is collection of books which can be borrowed and a small area of good quality cheaply priced used clothing.

The inpatient Bradgate Unit wards receive a morning a trolley service which is facilitated by staff from the Involvement Centre and Café.

Staff and volunteers ensure the smooth running of the centre on a day-to-day basis and do their best to make an individual’s experience and use of the Centre a positive one.
