Diana Childrens Community Service - Paediatric Respiratory Physiotherapists

Our Diana paediatric respiratory physiotherapists assess and treat children with complex disabilities with additional respiratory issues in the community.

We train families, carers and schools in chest physiotherapy to try to reduce hospital admissions caused by chest infections. We complete rapid response visits to children when they are acutely unwell. Additionally, we provide an in-reach service onto the childrens wards of UHL, so that we can closely monitor if any children known to us have been admitted, aiming to assist in a more rapid discharge from hospital where appropriate.

Two community paediatric respiratory physiotherapists are developing this service which is delivered from homes, schools, providers of respite care, acute wards and nurseries.
