Our Chair, Crishni Waring, is finishing her term with LPT today, Friday 31 October, before making way for our new interim joint Chair, Faisal Hussain, who takes up his role tomorrow (Saturday 1 November).

We would like to extend our thanks to Crishni for the difference she has made since becoming our Chair in 2023. Crishni has been Chair at our Group partners Northamptonshire Foundation NHS Trust (NHFT) since 2016.

In her time with us Crishni has shared her vibrancy and passion for supporting our communities with determination and care. We want to take the time to celebrate some of her endeavours which have truly made a difference.

Her key achievements include:

  • Supporting our improvement journey, including helping us to create the Leicestershire Partnership and Northamptonshire Healthcare University Associate Group.
  • Championing our Long Service awards to recognise and celebrate our colleagues who have dedicated their lives to the NHS and to our Trust.
  • Supporting delivery of both LPT and NHFT’s anti-racist strategy Together against Racism and praising our respective REACH networks for their dedication.
  • Working and building positive relationships with many partner organisations including our Integrated Care Boards; driving change with conversations and passion.
  • Undertaking numerous service visits, meeting colleagues, volunteers, patients and service users and creating space for active listening and learning.

Angela Hillery, joint Chief Executive said:

“Working with Crishni has been wonderful, and I know that I speak for all of our teams to wish her the best with her next endeavours. She has shown compassion and dedication and has helped us to achieve and to shape so many things.

I’m grateful to have Faisal joining us and I know that since our initial announcement in July, Crishni and Faisal have been concentrating on keeping this handover smooth for all our colleagues. I look forward to welcoming Faisal and continuing the CEO and Chair close working relationship for the benefit of our communities.”

New interim joint Chair, Faisal Hussain, said:

“I am incredibly grateful to Crishni for her help and support over the past few months as I begin this exciting new role as interim joint Chair. We have been working closely together to ensure as smooth a handover as possible. Crishni has made a big impact in many areas of both Trusts, and it has been inspiring to learn more about these and to think about our plans for the future.

“I would also like to take this opportunity, to say a huge thank you to all the colleagues who have supported me in readiness to take on this exciting opportunity. I look forward to meeting colleagues from across LPT and NHFT from November.”

Crishni will be staying in healthcare and her next role sees her take on the Chair role at Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board.

NHS England (NHSE) is responsible for recruitment of Chairs and Non-executive directors at LPT; NHFT’s Council of Governors is responsible for the recruitment of Chairs and Non-Executive Directors in NHFT. Together they made the decision to appoint Faisal as a joint interim Chair.
