Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT), alongside partners, recognises the impact that Covid-19 and its unprecedented changes to daily life continue to have on the mental wellbeing of its local population.

The Trust has acted to help ensure all communities impacted are able to access the right help. It has launched a multi-lingual, multi-media resource pack, signposting people to local services that can be accessed directly by individuals, whatever their level of need.

The pack features a simple infographic summarising contact information for NHS and non-NHS services and includes YouTube links along with translated visual, audio and text content which can be downloaded from its website: www.leicspart.nhs.uk

These have been translated into the top 10 requested languages for Leicester City:

  • Gujarati
  • Polish
  • Punjabi
  • Hindi
  • Urdu
  • Bengali
  • Kurdish Sorani
  • Arabic
  • Somali
  • Romanian

They are all available to download from: https://www.leicspart.nhs.uk/hereforyourwellbeing in addition to alternative formats, including audio versions for people who may have a visual impairment or a learning disability.

Avinash Hiremath, medical director at LPT said: “We know that the pandemic and the resulting lockdown has meant that many people will be experiencing issues such as anxiety and stress. We want people to reach out for help, and these translated signposting resources aim to help more non English-speakers be able to reach out for support, advice and care when they need it.”

The LPT website also features an emotional wellbeing page with details of local and national support resources, including helplines, text messaging services, apps and resources., including Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust’s 24-hour Central Access Point 0116 295 3060 which provides urgent mental health advice and support for people of all ages, and the free 24-hour Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland mental health crisis line for adults,0808 800 3302 which is provided for LPT by Turning Point. www.turning-point.co.uk
