A spokesperson for Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust said: “Sadly we can confirm that two patients who were being cared for by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust and had tested positive for Covid-19, have died.

“Both patients were in their eighties, had underlying conditions, and died on Monday, May 11.

“One was a male patient who died at the Evington Centre, Leicester; the other was a female patient, who died at Melton Mowbray Hospital.

“The families have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.”
