Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust’s Covid-19 Vaccination Team at Loughborough Hospital have been feeling festive and are gifting the community with an additional Christmas clinic on Wednesday 7 December from 8.15am- 7.45pm.
Anyone eligible (or who thinks they may be eligible) for a Covid-19 vaccination who needs a first, second or booster dose is being invited to come along to the Vaccination Centre on Hospital Way venue (LE11 5JY) to have the vaccine. Those attending will be in with the chance of receiving a festive goody bag, as well as knowing they have the protection of the vaccine in time for the holiday season.
Surekha Joshi, Operational Lead for the Vaccination Programme at LPT, said: “During the winter, we know that viruses tend to spread more rapidly than at other times of the year. Over the holidays we may see more people than usual, spend more time indoors and hug our friends and family, so the chances of catching Covid-19 can increase.
“We want everyone to enjoy their celebrations and having your Covid-19 vaccine will give you the reassurance that you are protected and have a reduced risk of getting seriously ill from Covid-19. Having the vaccine will also reduce the risk of you catching or spreading Covid-19. Having the Covid-19 vaccine is the best gift you can give yourself and your loved ones this Christmas”
LPT’s Vaccination Team have now vaccinated more than 300,000 people in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, so you can be reassured you’re in the best hands.
Surekha added: “We are so proud of what we have managed to achieve through our Vaccination Programme and to reach this amazing milestone at the end of the year is the cherry on top of the cake – or the star on top of the Christmas tree!
“I’d like to thank all our amazing staff across LPT who go above and beyond for our patients on a daily basis. It’s very humbling to think how many people across our area are now protected from Covid-19 due to the hard work and dedication of our staff.”
Booking for the clinic on Wednesday is not required. Just turn up.
