Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) has today been ranked in segment 2 (out of 4 segments) and 17th out of 61 community and mental health trusts as part of the Government’s publication of new NHS leagues tables, which rate the performance of NHS Trusts in England.

NHS England has used a framework to measure our delivery against an agreed set of metrics. This determines the category – or segment – score for each provider, ensuring public accountability and indicators for where improvement is required. There are 22 metrics or statistics within the framework, spread across six domains or areas:

  • strategy, leadership and planning
  • quality of care
  • people and culture
  • access and delivery of services
  • productivity and value for money
  • financial performance and oversight.

All acute and non-acute NHS and ambulance trusts in England have received a segment rating of between 1 (highest ranking) and 4 – for the lowest performing and most challenged. Segment 2 is described as: “The organisation has good performance across most domains. Specific issues exist.”

Angela Hillery, chief executive of LPT, said:

“We are pleased that LPT has achieved Segment 2 and is ranked nationally 17th out of 61 community and mental health trusts. This segment is a good position to be in and is a credit to our staff’s hard work and commitment. We will always strive for continuous improvement on behalf of our population.”
