Young people in secondary schools across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) who have missed any of their in-school vaccinations are being invited to get their jabs at catch-up clinics during August.
The catch-up clinics, which are being run by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust’s school aged immunisation service (SAIS), will being offering the:

- 3-in-1 teenage booster and Meningitis ACWY vaccinations, which protect young people against tetanus, diphtheria and polio and meningitis strains A, C, W and Y (available to young people in year 9 and above); and
- the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccination (offered to young people in year 8 and above).
Clinics are being held on the following dates:
- Thursday 14 August 2025 at St Luke’s Hospital, outpatients, Leicester Road, Market Harborough, Leicestershire LE16 7BN
- Friday 15 August 2025 at Rutland Memorial Hospital, Cold Overton Road, Oakham, Rutland LE15 6NT
- Tuesday 19 August 2025 at the Elizabeth Park Centre, Checkland Rd, Thurmaston, Leicester LE4 8FN
- Tuesday 26 August 2025 at Hynca Lodge, St Francis Close, Hinckley LE10 0EW.
School aged immunisation service nurse, Gail Evans-Hughes, said: “Each of these vaccinations provides important protection for young people against these life-threatening diseases. All the vaccines are free, safe and effective.
“They are given as a quick injection into the upper arm, which just feels like a small scratch. We know some young people can get nervous about having a vaccination, but I’d like to reassure you that our friendly and experienced nurses will do everything they can to support you.”
To book an appointment at the clinic, parents and carers or young people can contact the school aged immunisation service on 0300 3000 007 or email lpt.sais@nhs.net . Detailed information about each of the vaccines and ingredients was sent to parents, carers and young people either directly or through the young person’s school. However, the SAIS team can answer any questions or re-send information on request.
Gail added: “If you are not sure about your vaccination status, and want to double check if you have had all of your vaccines, please get in touch with the service and we will help you. If you have missed any of your vaccines, we can then book you into a catch-up clinic.”
