Community Integrated Neurology and Stroke Service (CINSS)

The Community Integrated Neurology and Stroke Service (CINSS) is a specialist neurology and stroke service. We provide neurorehabilitation for adults who have a diagnosis of stroke and/or neurological condition and live in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Our therapists will work with individuals in the most appropriate setting for their needs, either at a clinic or at home. Some appointments may also be completed via telephone, video consultation or in a group setting. As an integrated multidisciplinary team we aim to guide and empower individuals to manage their conditions and maximise their function.

We support recovery after stroke or neurological illness by working with the individual to regain skills and independence. For conditions that change or progress over time, we focus on maintaining abilities, finding new ways of doing things, and supporting quality of life.

Although we do not have speech and language therapists working in our team, speech and language therapy is provided separately by the Speech and Language Therapy Service. Details about how to access this service are available on their website: Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service – Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.

Referral criteria

Individuals must have a current rehabilitation need directly attributed to their neurological condition and require specialist neurological intervention/rehabilitation.
