Learning disabilities crisis response intensive support team
Support for people with a learning disability who are over the age of 18, who are using behaviour that hurts themselves or other people. The staff/carers/social worker may be thinking that going into hospital or moving home may help. The Crisis Response Intensive Support Team (CRIST) will try to support people to stay in the community.
The service offers initial risk assessment and risk management interventions and a 12-week Positive Behavioural Support Intervention model may be offered additionally.
CRIST are open 7 days a week, including bank holidays from 8 am -9pm.
Intensive support/risk management/positive behavioural support for people with a learning disability, aged 18 years and above whose behaviour is placing themselves or others at risk and subsequent placement breakdown/hospital admission may be considered.
Referral criteria
Service is for adults with a learning disability and associated challenging behaviour(s).
