Our Directorate of Mental Health colleagues work together to provide high-quality inpatient, urgent care, community and specialist mental health services for adults, older adults and their families.
Our services are diverse, spanning acute, rehabilitation and low secure inpatient settings, crisis and urgent care services, criminal justice and liaison services, and a wide range of community and specialist mental health services – such as perinatal, psychological therapies, and forensic mental health care.

Community and specialist mental health services cover a broad range of services across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. These teams support adults and older adults in community settings and provide a range of specialist interventions to meet individual needs. Our multidisciplinary teams bring together medical staff, nursing staff, therapists, psychologists and psychological therapists, occupational therapists and administrative colleagues, all working together to build compassionate care and wellbeing for all.
Inpatient, urgent care and specialist mental health services provide support for people experiencing acute mental health needs, as well as those requiring ongoing specialist care. Services are delivered across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland by multi-disciplinary teams that include medical staff, nursing staff, therapists, psychologists and psychological therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, dietitians and administrative colleagues. Working collaboratively, these teams provide assessment, treatment and support to help people achieve the best possible outcomes.
