Our Families, Young People, Children’s and Learning Disabilities and Autism directorate colleagues work together to support children, young people, people with learning disabilities and autism and their families across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Our wide range of community and inpatient services creates unique opportunities for colleagues to work together across disciplines, helping to achieve the best outcomes for children, young people, people with learning disabilities and/or autism and families at every stage of life.
We provide both universal and specialist support, including child and adolescent mental health services, health visiting and school nursing, paediatric medicine, nutrition and dietetics services, eating disorder services, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy.
This is complemented by locality-based learning disability teams, short break homes, specialist inpatient services and autism and outreach services. Our learning disability teams provide specialist support directly to individuals and families, while also offering expert advice and guidance to other professionals directly involved in their care.
