Information for secondary schools

In 2023/24, the School Aged Immunisation Service will be offering the following vaccinations in secondary school in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

  • Flu for young people in year 7-11, beginning October 2023
  • 3-in-1 teenage booster/MenACWY, taking place from January to February 2024
  • HPV and MMR, taking place from March to April 2024.

Self-consent resources

This year the service has introduced self-consent for young people, where they are in year 8 or above and a consent decision (either for or refusal) has not been provided by a parent or carer. In order to provide consent, the young person must be able to demonstrate they understand what is involved in the vaccination, as well as the risks and benefits. #
