We are pleased to announce that after a rigorous recruitment process Dr Avinash Hiremath has been appointed the new Medical Director for LPT. Avinash has been undertaking this role in an interim capacity since May and we are delighted to welcome him to our executive team.

Avinash has worked as a psychiatrist for over 20 years. He has worked with LPT since 2004, initially as a trainee, and since 2010, as a consultant for people with learning disabilities, and most recently as Clinical Director in Learning Disabilities and Families, Young People and Children’s services, and Associate Medical Director for Quality. He has shared his expertise in active roles with the Royal College of Psychiatrists as Regional Advisor, Executive Member of The Intellectual Disability Faculty, and as a Mentoring Lead. He has also worked as a Clinical Advisor for other organisations, and as a Specialist Advisor to the Care Quality Commission (CQC). He brings with him a strong to commitment to patient centred care and creating the right conditions for clinicians to deliver high quality care.
