Our commitment to you

We are committed to offering every staff member the opportunity to develop their career, and rewarding them for the work they do. We view lifelong learning and personal development as vital to both our staff and the Trust’s progression, and continue to invest in our staff through internal and external courses.

Develop Your Skills

Developing our staff is extremely important to us. From the beginning, we will support your training and development, starting with an induction into the organisation, followed by specialist training relevant to your role and interests.

We have developed our WeNurture scheme to help our staff work to their fullest potential. We support our leaders with a full range of management development courses to help them meet the demands of managing services in the modern NHS.

We also offer various other courses through both traditional face to face training and our bespoke elearning packages delivered through our ulearn system.

Flexible Working Options

We offer a range of flexible working options to help our staff with their work life balance. These include part time hours, job shares, annualised hours, term time-only contracts, flexible bank-only contracts, as well as standard all year round full-time contracts. We also increasingly practice agile working which means that many of our teams operate away from traditional bases.

Career Progression

We understand that individuals have their own career goals, and we want to help them as much as we can. That's why we offer appraisals to discuss your goals and achievements, coupled to an extensive range of training and development courses. We also operate performance related pay in line with NHS Terms and Conditions to recognise the achievements of our staff.

Staff employed under NHS Terms and Conditions

Our staff are employed under NHS Terms and Conditions of Service. This is a performance based pay scheme which- your performance is assessed annually at appraisal, and this is your opportunity to progress within your pay band, and at key points in your career with us, progress your salary to the next pay step point.
