In the Media

Listen to Kate Goodhew (Specialist Speech and Language Therapist) and Mili (Parent of a child with Developmental Language Disorder) raising awareness of Developmental Language Disorder (or DLD) on BBC Radio Leicester.

BBC Leicester DLD

Correction: Kate meant to say ‘DLD is almost as common as dyslexia’. The prevalence of all Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) is the same as dyslexia (10%). DLD forms a large part of SLCN but not all. The prevalence of DLD is 7.6% (Norbury et al, 2016)
